RECREATION DEPARTMENT

The Recreation Department therapeutic programs are designed to meet the recreation and leisure needs of our residents. The Recreation Therapists and Activity Directors work with the residents and the care teams to provide a diverse network of programmed activities.

Each of the courts is staffed with one recreation staff member. Court programs are implemented in the lounges, resident room, gathered around the piano, alcove, recreation room (with a fully equipped kitchen) and in the community at large. The courts develop their own monthly calendar based on the needs of the residents.

The Recreation Department has much to offer the residents here at Rocmaura. Please take the opportunity to learn more about us.

Beauty Salon:
The Beauty Salon is staffed by a certified hair dresser and is located on the Ist floor across from the main lounge. Gift certificates may be purchased for residents.

Courtyards:
Rocmaura has two beautiful courtyards located on Trinity Court and the first floor. Our courtyard has received two awards; first prize in the "Institutional" category of the Mayors Contest in 1999 and the Golden Gardens Wildlife Gardening Program created by the Canadian Wildlife Federation, commemorating the international year of older persons. It is an oasis of color in the summertime, attracting birds to the feeders and the magical sounds of our beautiful wind chimes make the courtyard a relaxing garden for all to enjoy.
