Many thanks to the Rotary Club of Saint John who’s made a $15,000 donation toward our new Wheelchair Bus!

Club President Charlie Fraser says this is a great way for Rotary to help our seniors and become more visible in the community.

You can help make a donation to our new bus by visiting our donations page or by clicking here.

Esther O’Connor is enjoying the new Thera Glide Rocking Chair recently donated to Trinity Court by Rocmaura Foundation.

Recreation Therapists say many Residents are constantly “in motion”, but often are not able to maneuver their wheelchairs on their own due to their advanced dementia.

Foundation Chair Rod Flood says this new $1200 chair gives the benefits of rocking, but in a safe way, and helps residents self soothe when they are feeling anxious.

Marie Murphy, (left) President of the Auxiliary at Rocmaura Nursing Home presents Sally Cummings, (right) Coordinator of Rocmaura Foundation, with a cheque for $1500.

The donation is toward the wardrobe project. Phase II of the project is underway on Hopewell Court, to build 29 wardrobes at a cost of $150,000. Construction of 6 more wardrobes is underway in the Spring of 2016. Funding is still needed to build 7 more.

For a $3500 contribution, donors can have a plaque placed on a wardrobe in memory of a loved one.
