Our Successes. Making Life Better in our "Home away from Home."
Foundation Completes Two Major Projects!
Wardrobe Project
$500,000+ We have now completed installing our last units on Terrace Court!
The wardrobe project started in 2007 to refurbish resident's rooms on Garden, Hopewell, and Terrace Courts. When the project slowed, former board member and longtime supporter Don Mitchener stepped in and pledged to help us complete construction and promised to fund up to $52,500, or HALF of the remaining cost of the project, if we could find other donors to match it! Our community supporters met the challenge, and we managed to raise the final $105,000 to build the last 30 units. Then, when building costs escalated during the pandemic, donors gave even more, to complete this project.
(Each unit cost $3800 per unit x 30 units left to complete) Then construction was delayed due to our home being closed for several months due to Covid-19. In July 2023 we finally completed this fifteen year project ! All rooms are refurbished! These wardrobes bring our residents much pride and it is nice to toss out those 50 year old dressers at last!

Courtyard Project
$28,000 We are grateful to the Windsor Foundation which donated this major gift to help refurbish our courtyard with new sod and trees and a larger concrete patio surface which is safer for wheelchairs. Notice the new sail cloths added last summer! They are so colourful and bring shade without blocking the light completely. The courtyard is in the heart of our home, and it is a meeting and entertainment space for school children when they visit, community barbeques, and was the site of the Covid Olympic Games for staff! Many memories are made in our courtyard. We would like to install new benches and a wheelchair accessible swing. If you would like to donate to this project please contact our Foundation at 506 643 7090.
Your Kindness Bring Joy to Our Home.
